Oops, didn't mean to upload this, was just checking to make sure it worked and I pressed the wrong button. While it's up, does anyone have an opinion on it? I really don't know how much this will help beginner scripters learn in comparison to the absolute beginners' guide... --crazypotato4 21:17, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I fixed your image links for you. The first one is the most recent studio picture, the one you were reffering to is, like I commented, years old. I'd upload your own if I was you, because the one there has my name at the top-left and it already has output and stuff open. Read my HTML comments on both, I linked to a template on the second one.Trappingnoobs (Writer) Have I done something bad? Good? Tell me on my talk page 21:29, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- I was going to upload two screenshots that I have taken, the first one of the Studio's default layout, and the second being the Studio with the output and command bar shows, but I wasn't going to do so until I actually planned to upload this. I was going to wait at least until I was finished with the functions section. Also, how do I upload images? --crazypotato4 21:34, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/Special:Upload . Also, consider using {{Studio|Menu$View}} as the second image I fixed. It'll apear like this:Trappingnoobs (Writer) Have I done something bad? Good? Tell me on my talk page 21:36, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks! --crazypotato4 21:39, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, Anaminus made tonnes of these images. He probably has a program that did it, or he's extremely patient and devoted- I put some below, you might want to use (Click edit). The template is realy straightforward; generally typing in what you want with dollar signs inbetween will get the result you hoped for :oTrappingnoobs (Writer) Have I done something bad? Good? Floats
Lua actually uses double precision (64 bit) floats which can be influenced by up to 16 digits or so (though less is returned from tostring()) [[User:NecroBumpist|NecroBumpist]] 22:34, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
- Feel free to edit this if you have corrections, I was going to eventually upload this to a normal page rather than something under my userpage, but it didn't seem to work out that way. --crazypotato4 23:03, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Guide
I'm not sure if you realize, but this guide is way better than the absolute beginner's guide to scripting and most other guides. At least, in my opinion, it is.
It actually explains things without skipping important stuff, and while still explaining it in a way that makes it easy to understand for beginners.
- That's what I was aiming for, thanks. I'm not going to put it on the main tutorials page just yet because it's not finished yet, plus there are some parts that I want to edit and make clearer (which I could have done by now if I weren't too lazy). I suppose now is as good a time as any to work on it, I'll go write stuff now. --crazypotato4 16:12, 21 January 2012 (EST)
- Actually, I like how you go in depths and explain certain things (like why the limit is 2^32, etc) even though they don't need to know it. You explain it in a friendly way, and at the same time, you explain it in depths. It is always good to know small details like that. You make it detailed and at the same time easy to understand, which is just great.
