It's teaching you how to manipulate game.Selection for making studio tools like Anaminus' CmdUtl.

Exactly, it is a tutorial and I am sure tutorials are allowed. Otherwise we wouldn't have catapault tutorial. Oh wait you should delete that too because its not a built-in method.
