Note
Just a note. Double check my talk page to check up on the changes to the guide. I added templates for the default functions, they should be put in there too. ---Mr Doom Bringer 05:19, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
- Yep. Looks like I failed with the services.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 16:35, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Question regardng Volunteer Mod Loss
How will we classify who is a writer and who is a reviewer/editor now? --Blocco|Userpage-Talkpage 23:34, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- I think it is Doom's decision as to who is given what tool. I don't think he is on, so we'll see what he says later.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 23:37, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Note
Good job. Moderation scheduling became interesting and I haven't had time to work on the wiki. I have been watching you guys for the past two weeks though, and you all seem to be working quite well. Hai5, you earned a cookie. Keep doing what you're doing, the content pages are fleshing out and people are starting to notice. Scheduling should ease out in a week or two, we'll see what happens. ---Mr Doom Bringer 05:30, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Image Maps
I think you can really make a great use out of image mapping thumbs. Click here. Emess talk 00:19, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah I would love to have thumbs with imagemaps, however our extension of flagged revisions doesn't work with them. If you try to mark a revision as patrolled, and it has a thumb with imagemap, it just spits out a nasty error. Really annoying actually.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 01:02, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Removing payment options/gamecard info
Why are you doing that? Is there something wrong with having that on the wiki? »ArceusInator 13:11, 20 December 2011 (EST)
- Doing what I'm told. From what I understand, the wiki will continue to host the Building/scripting related content, while the Builderman's Help pages will host the content relating to Builders club and it's payment methods.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 22:35, 20 December 2011 (EST)
The Syntax Highlighter Extension
As far as I can tell, you're the one with the best communication with the wiki admins.
As I described in this post, Extension:GeSHiCodeTag is considered harmful. It claims the widely-used <code> tag for it's own uses, breaking many pages across the site. Without this tag available, there is no sensible way of marking up inline code.
Please can we switch to Extension:SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi? This extension uses the <source> tag instead, which makes much more sense, and doesn't hide the native <code> tag. Additionally, it's much more customizable.
The sooner we switch the better, so that there are as few pages using Extension:GeSHiCodeTag to be converted as possible.
On a related note, could you try and persuade the developers to install ParserFunctions? It would greatly reduce the load on these templates
Thanks
- Would wrapping the use of the tag with a template to make switching easier be a good idea? --SNCPlay42 09:43, 21 December 2011 (EST)
- Not really. It just complicates things, since template arguments cannot contain vertical bars or equals signs. Besides, there should not be a reason to switch for a second time. Just refrain from using syntax highlighting until we swap.
- Yeah that makes sense. Unfortunately, not much I can do other than ask Doom. Have you posted this on his talk page yet?--Gordonrox24 | Talk 16:31, 21 December 2011 (EST)

Recent Changes Notice
You might want to mention something about people storing their passwords in text files and such and what to do about it. Because there are so many different login systems all over the internet, it gets very difficult to remember all those passwords. People (including me a few times) have resorted to doing that just so we don't lose access to whatever account. Legend26 (talk | contribs) 15:09, 6 April 2012 (EDT)

- Legend26, that's the reason you can reset your password with your email account. Tomtomn00, that'd be useless, because we can prove who we are through our main account. --JulienDethurens 01:45, 7 April 2012 (EDT)
Hi
Could you look at the most recent post (my one) on User talk:Mr Doom Bringer. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 22:49, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hey. Yep, I've read it. The direction the wiki takes in the future is pretty much up to the Roblox admins. We'll just have to see how the wiki changes over time. However, I think Roblox is pretty pleased with how the wiki is progressing. We just need to keep on doing what we're doing, and the wiki will get better every day. Thanks!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 18:54, 12 April 2012 (EDT)

Also, please specify it in the signature when you edit someone's message (I even do it when I edit my own messages!), add your name and a timestamp, like I just did it. --JulienDethurens 19:36, 12 April 2012 (EDT)

Deleting pages
Can't believe someone is finally doing it. Thanks. The wiki needed it, I guess. --JulienDethurens 19:37, 12 April 2012 (EDT)
- There were around 400 pages there, and 200 files.~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 23:38, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah. Many of the pages are old userpages. I'm gonna delete them, but we don't need to really tag any more userpages for deletion. You can smash the random page button all day long, and you are never going to be taken to a userpage, so it's not like a reader is going to stumble upon the old userpages unless they are looking for them. However, not really any harm in deleting them. Keep up the hard work guys!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 19:44, 12 April 2012 (EDT)

ImageMapEdit
I'm only posting this here because I know you'll probably be the first sysop to read it, but..
Could you add the following line to MediaWiki:common.js?
importScriptURI('http://toolserver.org/~dapete/ime/ime.js');</syntaxhighlight>
It is a newer version of a tool MrDoomBringer gave us a link to that makes creating image maps easier. The installation, which is as simple as adding this line to MediaWiki:common.js, is described here. --JulienDethurens 00:28, 16 April 2012 (EDT)
Hi
Can I change Itunes89's block to Indefinate, you shortened it to 3 days, but see here. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 18:31, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- No. I've sent Itunes89 a first and only warning. We take account security very seriously. If this happens again we will be taking further steps. Thanks for watching out for the wiki!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 14:36, 17 April 2012 (EDT)
RE: Password notice
Imposing limits on passwords only makes them easier to guess, because people usually stick to the limit, meaning bruting them is significantly easier.
http://tech.dropbox.com/?p=165 also explains that things like asking for symbols is entirely pointless and misjudged. It's also got a picture from XKCD which perfectly explains the point I'm trying to get at.
Trappingnoobs (Writer) Have I done something bad? Good? Tell me on my talk page17:26, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

You're deleting pages too fast! If you continue deleting them so fast, the category is actually really going to be empty... Oh no!
Hm..
Let's see if I can find some way to fill it again with 200+ pages... Mwahaha... --JulienDethurens 20:53, 25 April 2012 (EDT)

Moving the main page
This has already been discussed on the mainpage's talk page, but I think we need a sysop to see it. The main page is currently located at the article named 'Roblox', which makes no sense. I mean, the main page isn't an article about ROBLOX, is it? It is the main page, so I think it should be moved back to the Main Page page, where it originally was. I would do it myself, but it'd also be better to get it to be changed in MediaWiki:Mainpage (which will also change it on the sidebar and when clicking the logo, as well as when typing https://rbxlegacy.wiki in the address bar. I mean, we could redirect it, but, heh, it's the main page, and it wouldn't look very professional. --JulienDethurens 23:39, 27 April 2012 (EDT)
- Hey. I'll talk to Doom about it. Chances are he did it for a reason, and I just forget. I'll see what I can do. Thanks!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 00:40, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
- Would make more sense to name it "Roblox Wiki". There's nothing wrong with having the main page elsewhere. The minecraft wiki does it. Even MediaWiki itself does. Yes, "Roblox" does not describe the article. However, "Roblox Wiki" does.
- Yeah I wouldn't object to moving it to Roblox Wiki.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 15:39, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
- If we do move it, be sure to use the 'Move' instead of copying and pasting it, and include a redirect, as I personally know that a lot of websites link back to the main page. - Quenty (talk • April 28)
- You would also need to edit MediaWiki:Sidebar. --~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 21:10, 28 April 2012 (UTC) 17:10, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
- Not really, since the sidebar uses MediaWiki:Mainpage anyway.--JulienDethurens 05:50, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
- We should move it to either Main Page or Roblox Wiki, though I think the page Roblox Wiki could be useful to describe the wiki itself. But, if you think about it, the wiki already has an about page... In fact, the wiki is in a way a part of ROBLOX, but since it already has its own namespace to describe itself... --JulienDethurens 05:50, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
- Doesn't the "Welcome to the Roblox Wiki" box on the the home make the page fall into the "describes the wiki itself" category?
- I really wonder if the traffic that comes back actually notices or cares... †MrNicNac - Senior Wiki Editor †
Deletion
Do you think you could delete all the pages listed here? They're all subpages of Anaminus's user space that he himself said he'd delete if he could. The reason I'm asking this is that some of these pages (the sweep ones especially) contain thousands of links to deleted pages, which spams maintenance special pages like the Special:WantedPages with deleted pages. In fact, you could delete only those, or we could even just blank them, but since Anaminus said he doesn't want them, we could as well just delete them all. --JulienDethurens 18:43, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
- He doesn't have to take on the burden of deleting them all. I'll at least go through and clear them so they don't link to anything. --Anaminus 02:00, 5 May 2012 (EDT)
- If you replace the content with {{delete|Personal page, which is now useless}} or something like that, he'll mechanically delete it. - Quenty (talk • May 5)
- Personal pages aren't my priority. If Anaminus wants to just clear them, that is fine. I can delete them eventually, but that's not something I'm going to set time aside to do. --Gordonrox24 | Talk 12:04, 5 May 2012 (EDT)
Please
Could you delete my userpage instantly? I have some private reasons for it that I would not wish to disclose to anyone. --~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 16:49, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
Question
Why did you delete User:Admin? I know Reecemcblox de-sysoped and de-bureaucratted it, but it is the default wiki account, owned by Telamon. --~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 21:17, 6 May 2012 (UTC) 17:17, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
- The page wasn't created by the staff, we don't need it.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 17:19, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
Kind of off topic, but... A short request.
This guy stole my game, and I'm kind of annoyed. Can you please remove it? He has an alt with it too... Then, he stole my cover pictures, made a badge, and a fangroup for it. -___- He then claimed he made it in 2009, but everyone knew that GUI's and stuff didn't exist then. Anyway, he stole it... :( And he stole my images. -___-
His Games (Stolen)
His current argument is that he has a longer BC loyalty and has played ROBLOX longer, therefore he made it. I disproved all of his other arguments. If you want, I can provide evidence I created the game, from the person who told me they were hacking, to many people who know I made the game, and several other sources. I can provide source documents, and I know that 3 administrators have joined. I can provide Youtube videos and sketches.
Mine (Original):
If you don't want to take an action, or you somehow don't have time, I guess that's OK. Thanks for reading. - Quenty (talk • May 6)
- Sorry, nothing I can do about that. I'd suggest mailing info@. --Gordonrox24 | Talk 17:29, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
