User:Quenty/petition
This petition is to create an open wiki for ROBLOX, combined with strict security features to prevent abuse. MediaWiki is 'designed' to be open, and we can put mass unrevision stuff on people's users, ect. We can also IP ban people, and all content can be reviewed before being viewed in the public.
I will post more stuff here about how we can protect the wiki, but it's quite simple to move to an open wiki, where we can review all material and fix mistakes before it becomes posted, along with protecting pages, and preventing vandalism. Permissions can also be edited too...
- Prevent new page creation
- Only allow X amount of edits per a day
And we can have
- Anti spam bots
- Like Cluebot, ect. from Wikipedia
- More stuff here.
- Filters (see Extension:AbuseFilter)
We already have
- The Reviewing System
- Auto promotes users who do lots of stuff
- Any user that gets promoted will have contributed hours to the wiki
- Any user that is bad can be disallowed to be promoted
- Disallows any bad stuff from appearing
- Allows us to ban bad users
- Auto promotes users who do lots of stuff
If we follow the below pillars (based off of Wikipedia), and modify them, we should be good. Of course, they need to be refined.
This is an help and reference guide for ROBLOX.
- It should talk about elements of ROBLOX, not about your game, clan, model or anything. Users who do not follow these rules will be immediately banned and blocked from the wiki for as long as necessary.
Content must be truthful and unbiased and Anonymous
- All Content should be truthful, and should not include references to yourself. All content should be anonymous, and any self advertising will result in a blockage.
All Content is Free and Open Source
- Any script model, technique, ect. will be published for the whole world to see. Please do not publish stuff you do not want people to take, steal, ect. No models, decals, ect. should be referenced to you, and there should be instructions on how to recreate all things on this wiki.
Civil
- Respect and be polite to your fellow Wikipedians, even when you disagree. Apply Wikipedia etiquette, and avoid personal attacks. Find consensus, avoid edit wars, and remember that there are 1,701 articles on the English Wikipedia to work on and discuss. Act in good faith, and never disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point. Be open and welcoming, and assume good faith on the part of others. When conflict arises, discuss details on the talk page, and follow dispute resolution.
No firm rules, but moderation is liberal, this is not ROBLOX. We are very strict.
- Rules in Wikipedia are not carved in stone, as their wording and interpretation are likely to change over time. The principles and spirit of Wikipedia's rules matter more than their literal wording, and sometimes improving Wikipedia requires making an exception to a rule. Be bold (but not reckless) in updating articles and do not worry about making mistakes. Prior versions of pages are saved, so any mistakes can be corrected.
