Ok, I just PMed someone with this long guide on how to export from anim8or to mesh... Download anim8or 0.95 from anim8or.com and open it. Now open notepad. then copy the script on the wiki into notepad. Go to File > Save As, then in Save as Type open the drop-down menu and choose All Files (*.*) and put a name like [name].a8s (make sure it is in .a8s and save as type is all files! If not the script will not work! the a8s is in the save name part). Remember where you saved the script. I would recommend saving it in the Documents. Now go back to anim8or and go to File > Configure ... A window should pop up. Press the ... button next to the rectangle that says Scripts, then find the folder you saved your script in and click OK. Check the box that says Preload Scripts. Press OK. Close and reopen anim8or. When you reopen anim8or, a black window should come up saying something like "61 lines 0 errors". Don't close it unless it has more than 2 lines of text. If it does, something went wrong; try again. Now make your 3D model in anim8or. For starters, I would make a primitive mesh (press the m key then click and drag on the grid) just as a test to see if it works. Once you are done, go up to the top where it says Object and go to Object > Export ... A window should pop up asking what to export it to. Since you need a mesh for Roblox, open the drop-down menu and click Roblox mesh:plug-in (*.mesh) and save it to somewhere like Documents. Now to get it in-game, copy the file location (that is, the C:\... stuff. Make sure it ends with the mesh's name, like this: C:\...[meshname].mesh) by highlighting and Ctrl-C. Open Roblox or Roblox Studio, and get a brick out. Go to Insert > Object and choose SpecialMesh. For MeshType choose FileMesh. Now paste the location of the mesh into the MeshId. It should then appear. Some meshes, as I have experimented, will not work, so if it doesn't appear, try making another. Hope this helps! -- LEG0builder EDIT: You can also do this with an imported file. For example, 3ds to an8 to mesh.

How Does it Work??????? Wow. Does this work? --Telamon 12:11, 25 February 2008 (CST)

Yes, it does! :D I can now make custom hats for my places, But people have to enter it in solo mode first.

Yes. It does work. ---Gamer3D 15:41, 21 April 2008 (CDT)

It won't work with my anim8or could someone please explain?? ---Wuzeman

Did you read the installation instructions in the article or is there another problem? -OutOfSpace 09:57pm CST May 10, 2008

I don't know how to save something as an .a8s file ---Wuzeman

Open anim8tor, make your mesh, then goto File> Save. --Outofspace 18:04, 26 May 2008 (CDT)

It says "Place this script (as a .a8s file) in the folder." I can't make the script an .a8s file?? Wuzeman

You have to put the script on Notepad then go to File > Save As > Then select the thing that says "Text Documents (.txt) and change it to "All Files (*.*).

Then you put "MeshImport.a8s" as the Name of the script. CoolJB1

Actually, you can save it as *.a8s, that works just as well. --Dingdong272 14:22, 7 June 2008 (CDT)

Can someone explain every exact step to put my own mesh, I made in Anim8or, to a brick no ROBLOX please! Username: PenguinBuddiesInc. ROBLOX Username: HiSpongeBob

When I Try To Run The Script It Has This Debug Output Window. Also What Do I Do When I Have The Script Loaded And My Mesh Finished Do I Click Convert To Mesh? --Wuzeman

The output window means you're doing it right. Then, go to Object>Export and export it as a ROBLOX:plug-in.

Thanks for the exporting thing =D CoolJB1

See, one little detail can mess EVERYTHING up! AKA, using WordPad instead of NotePad (which I did, not knowing the difference between the two). Now, how do you get the mesh INTO Studio?

Yah How Do You Put The Mesh Into Roblox Do You Upload It As The TextureId Or What Please Tell-- Wuzeman

The Debug Output says this:
internal error on line 28: ScriptObject::InitExecution<>: missing file descriptor</syntaxhighlight>
What does that mean? Ty\/II

It means the script doesn't work. I get it too. Although I doubt Gamer3D will fix this, as making meshes is "UnSupported". Sorry. ⇒OutOfSpace

Help, mine dosen't work, i've got the script to work but i can export it as a '.mesh' file! Someone tell me where im going wrong! Jaxcar

Jax Did You Go To Export And Not Save Or Save As Wuzeman

By The Way Mine Works Now I Made A Mesh

-_-,

Does not work I tried! I put it in the mesh and it will not work!

We got this too: internal error on line 28: ScriptObject::InitExecution<>: missing file descriptor. If anyone knows how to fix this, please post the answer here!

What you have to do is save the script into Notepad (File > Save As). Where it says File Type: choose All Files. Now after the file name type .a8s. (e.g., exporttomesh >> exporttomesh.a8s [type the a8s after it in the savename place]) So when you save your script it should not be a *.txt, but a *.a8s. Hope this helps! PS: that's as far as I got, though. When I run the script in Anim8or all it says is 'Compiling "C:\-savelocation-\exporttomesh.a8s": 61 lines 0 errors' for a really long time. If anyone can fix this new problem post here too! -- LEG0builder

Whats the script????? QOUTE:"Now open notepad. then copy the script" Stich983

Deletion?

There are no more user-made meshes. Emess talk 21:16, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

yeah this is one of those pages we don't need.--Gordonrox24 | Talk 23:59, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I think the page should stay, just because it is so old. Maybe make a banner at the top saying "Deprecated" or something.

Is there a deprecated template thing?

I think this page should stay here. It can still be used. I use the exporter script and the guide to make my meshes on Roblox. I upload them via script information and then transform them into triangles.--MrNicNac 15:10, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
