I looked in the object browser and they were.
You don't need to put a new header to reply to a message. Instead, indent it as I did it on this page. Also, no, they aren't deprecated. Make sure your ReflectionMetadata.xml file is the default one and you didn't edit it at all, otherwise, its information is not official.
