How to make a regular door
On ROBLOX, you will see several different types of doors, usually around or on buildings. Using this technique, you can create a realistic swinging door, which is also is fairly simple to make. This is the second most common method of making a door, the first being a brick set with the CanCollide property to false. However, this is more realistic then that approach. Using weld's, you can also create multi-part pieces.
Steps
1. Create the bottom hinge
First, make a new brick. Resize it to sized 1, 0.4 ,1 and anchor it, as this will be the bottom hinge of the door. Give the top surface a hinge. Any brick connected (attached) to this surface will be able to rotate around the hinge.
2. Create the top hinge
Make a brick with its size as 1,0.8,1 and put it on top. This time put the hinge on the bottom.
3. Create the door
Make the door. It can be any size you want. Make sure it is connected to the top and bottom hinges, if it isn't, then the door won't swing properly.
4. Test
If you haven't, test out your door in solo or online mode. See if you can go through it, as well as if the door swings. . If not, make sure you haven't anchored the door by mistake and repeat the steps... Making a door can be tricky.
Tips
- Try to make your brick transparent. It may look better to other players.
- Try different colors! Pick the one that you like.
- Finally, publish your model if you want to.
- Make sure you don't anchor your door or you won't be able to walk through it.
